Job Relationships: Supervised by Patient Services Manager and Patient Services Supervisors. Directed by Veterinarians. Works closely with Clinic Client Service Representatives and volunteers.
Position Summary: The Veterinary Technician assists Veterinarians with all aspects of the treatment and care of animal patients, educates clients on proper animal care, and promotes and supports the services offered by the Humane Society of Boulder Valley (HSBV).

Must possess a current State of Colorado Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills and customer service skills. Shows initiative and is a conscientious worker. Ability to handle multiple tasks at once in a fast-paced environment. Detail oriented and exercises good judgment when dealing with the public and animal-related concerns. Able to lift and carry 50 pounds. Committed to the mission of the Humane Society of Boulder Valley and to the success of the Veterinary Clinic.
Work is performed in an animal shelter environment and a veterinary hospital environment. Exposure to cleaning agents when in kennel and hospital areas. Exposure to animals at all times. Subject to animal bites and scratches while handling animal of questionable temperament. Daily lifting of up to 50 pounds. Ten-hour work shift requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and lifting.
Shifts are ten hours in length. Saturday or Sunday availability is required.
$18.00 – $19.00 per hour; current CVT required.
